New Totai Building (Casa Margaret)
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose

On the 23rd of April, Fundacion Totai celebrated the opening
of the new Totai Building.  The official opening ceremony
(
click here for more photos) was attended by local authorities,
representatives of local charities, health organisations,
overseas sponsors, friends and staff.

Programme for the Prevention of Hearing Impairment
Developed in partnership with Christoffel Blindenmission - CBM (Christian Blind Mission) and
established in Beni State in January 2006.   Aims to raise awareness nationwide.

"Freedom Kids" Prison Ministry
Sports Outreach Bolivia
The "Freedom Kids" outreach
ministry holds classes each
afternoon for the children, divided
into 2 groups (Mon&Wed or
(Tue&Thur).  

These classes provide the children
with opportunities to do homework,
supported by a qualified school
teacher, arts & crafts, Bible stories,
beginners English language and
games amongst others.
The basketball and football outreach programmes
of Sports Outreach Bolivia have begun with their
training sessions for 2008.

Its purpose is to actively promote
public awareness about ear and
hearing problems and to prevent,
treat and rehabilitate people living
with hearing impairment and/or ear
conditions/diseases.

WHO (World Health Organisation)
estimates that 278 million people live
in the world with disabling hearing
impairment. Two thirds of them live
in developing countries like Bolivia.  
50% is deemed to be preventable.

Published Articles - PPHI
Flooding in Trinidad
Heavy rains throughout the last few months have led to
serious flooding in many parts of Bolivia, including
Trinidad.

International Health Partners - Travel Pack
In March, a Travel Pack containing medicines
was very kindly donated to the work of
Fundación Totaí by International Health
Partners via the
The Peebles Family Charitable
Trust.

These medicines, many of which are very
difficult to source and expensive in Bolivia, will
be distributed free of charge to patients
attended at the Totaí Health Centre.
