Team games are a staple of the 5-day club programme
|
Trinidad's school year is divided into two semesters, with
the inter-semester break taking place for two weeks in July
'El Jireh', the Sports area of Fundación Totaí organises two
5-day clubs in this fortnight, one taking place in Trinidad,
and the other in the remote village of San Pedro, 59km to
the north of Trinidad.
What does a 5-day club look like? With so many children in
attendance, pretty chaotic! In 2010, an average of 75
children took part in the Trinidad club and 35 in the club
held in San Pedro.
Each day's session takes place from 10am until
Noon, with a short game followed by the main focus
of the club, when the children gather together to sing
worship songs, learn Scripture verses and hear a
story from the Bible.
Through this ministry, hundreds of young people in
the Beni region have heard the gospel message.
Furthermore, the touring 5-day club of each year
provides an opportunity for a Health team from FT to
come and provide free health check-ups for people
who live in remote areas.
